A high-level firm with an outstanding reputation is looking to add a corporate international tax senior manager to its team. If you’re looking to move into a position with a firm that offers plenty of growth opportunities, has a supportive work environment, and encourages a healthy work-life balance, then this role will be of particular interest.
The Role
The role involves reporting directly to the head of corporate tax. To succeed in the role, you’ll draw your excellent understanding of UK corporation tax, as well as your knowledge of international matters. It would help if you also had a broader grasp of related business taxes to ensure that clients are fully compliant with their tax responsibilities and identify new tax planning opportunities.
Your planning assignment projects, in which you’ll play a leading role, can involve projects such as conducting a detailed analysis of business reorganisations, loan relationships, EIS schemes, demergers, sales, and due diligence on acquisitions.
Ideally, you’ll have some experience dealing with complex international tax issues, such as double taxation relief and treaties, thin capitalisation, permanent establishments, CFC’s, withholding taxes, and transfer pricing, among others. Training, support, resources, and mentoring will all be provided. You will ideally be involved in the training and mentoring of more junior members of staff; some prior experience of this would be useful but not essential.
On a day to day basis, you’ll be working on tasks for the firm’s corporate clients, which come from a wide selection of sectors and industries, including multinational groups, AIM-listed PLCs, FSA regulated companies and entrepreneurial growth companies.
The majority of your work will take place in-office and is largely client-facing.
Other responsibilities can include:
* Helping the firm’s UK and international clients organise and structure their tax.
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
* Working with other colleagues, both domestically and abroad.
* Reviewing complex tax matters, including corporate returns and computations.
* Managing a team of staff, including conducting appraisals and managing work allocation.
What will this mean for your career?
The role is designed to take you to a senior manager position - the firm will provide you with the tools to make this happen. The ‘tools’ will include giving you exposure to some of the firm's best clients to improve your technical and commercial skills and an internal mentoring program that will allow you to learn and develop.
