Job Description: Chef de Partie
Location: Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum
Job Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
* Manage a section of the kitchen and oversee the activities of the kitchen staff working in that section.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain the highest standard of hygiene in the kitchen.
* Assist in menu planning, maintaining profitability, and ensure food costs are managed effectively.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge.
* Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operation and timely food service.
* Monitor inventory levels, place orders for food supplies, and ensure proper stock rotation.
* Maintain equipment and kitchen tools, reporting any repairs or replacements needed to the head chef.
Essential Qualifications:
* Proficiency in culinary arts with a strong understanding of various cooking techniques.
* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
* Strong cooking skills with hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Desired Experience:
* Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
* Experience in training or leading kitchen staff is preferred.
* Background in catering activities and restaurant operations.
