We are seeking a skilled Credit Risk Team Leader to join our team at our Caerphilly office. In this role, you will safeguard DS Smith Plc's investment by implementing effective credit risk management practices. Through strategic business partnering, you will help maximise sales and profits while minimising bad debt associated with the company’s accounts receivable. Reporting to the Head of Credit and Collections, you will lead a team responsible for proactively reviewing, controlling, reporting, and providing guidance on customer risk matters. Key Accountabilities Your remit will include but not limited to: Credit Risk Team Management Manage the Credit & Collections team's activities and assist the Head of Credit & Collections in developing the team in order to achieve the departmental objectives. Lead and prioritise the workload of the Credit Analysts daily activities providing support, training and mentoring when required. Monitor and drive team's performance by analysing KPIs. Promotes and enhances the 'Order to Cash' processes to maximise Working Capital and minimise bad debt. Builds the relationship with our internal customers to understand business priorities and challenges. Carries out team members personal development reviews and 1-2-1s to provide timely feedback to encourage good performance and development. Manage the team's daily activities to ensure that the workload is correctly balanced and Service Level Agreements are met. Partners the Collections team and participates in site debtor/working capital reviews on a regular basis to aid decision making. Guides the Credit Risk team to develop skills and service offering to provide a more value adding service to our customers. Including training for Financial Analysis. Management of the UK Factoring facility and relationship management with BNP. Credit Vetting & Compliance Establishment of controlled culture ensuring full compliance and adherence to to the Group Finance and Credit Policy to boost sales and prevent bad debt. Review financial data, sales data and payment history to support sound credit limit recommendations to the legal entities we support. Assess & prepare customer credit reviews for new and existing customers by creating concise and written credit analysis with appropriate recommendations. Ensure team adhere to Group Finance & Credit Policy at all times. Liaises with Atradius and Globalia to maximise financial information to increase information of customers when minimal information is available to enable a sound commercial decision. Continuous Improvement Leads credit risk projects to maximise efficiencies by reviewing business processes and behaviours to minimise bottlenecks.
