Position:
An opportunity has arisen for a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (Modern Apprenticeship, Annex 21 conditions apply) based across various GP Practices across North Ayrshire (depending on rotation).
What you will do:
This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn in a Technical Apprenticeship leading to a career as a Pharmacy Technician. You will study, train, and work as a Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician across NHS Ayrshire & Arran with rotational placements in general practice and hospital pharmacy.
Duties include:
1. Dispensing medications
2. Dealing with pharmaceutical queries
3. Medicines reconciliation and final accuracy checking
4. Undertaking medication reviews
5. Ordering pharmaceutical stock
6. Preparing aseptic products
You will be required to work through a structured training programme towards achieving the SVQ Pharmacy Services qualification at SCQF Level 8 and PDA Pharmacy Services SCQF Level 7 to meet the General Pharmaceutical Council’s initial education and training requirements.
You will be enthusiastic with strong interpersonal and organisational abilities, good oral/written communication skills, and a strong teamwork ethic.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Applicants must have achieved 4 National 5 qualifications (or SCQF equivalent) which must include English, Maths, Biology, and Chemistry as a minimum.
In accordance with AFC terms and conditions, you may be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working day.
Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
A car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
