SEND Early Years Learning Support Solihull, Birmingham £83.33 - £100 daily depending on experience Full Time 8:30am-3:30pm ASAP, permanent role Monarch Education collaborates with SEND schools across Birmingham, fostering strong relationships to assist with staffing and filling vacancies. We're currently partnering with a special school in Solihull that are seeking a dedicated SEND Early Years Learning Support Assistant. This role is to start as soon as possible and is permanent. This all-age special school caters to students who all have a statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN), primarily focusing on moderate learning difficulties, with the primary need being Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The Role: You would be working in a special school for students who have mild to moderate special needs. The position is to begin a new group the school are setting up. There will be a small class of early years children with learning difficulties. Many children will have undiagnosed learning difficulties and may display developmental delay or be non-verbal. You would be expected to guide children through their educational journey, with the use of sensory toys and engaging activities. Staff are supported and encouraged at a personal and professional level with access to regular training and peer support. The ideal candidate: Would have an early year's level 3 qualification Would have experience working in a special school Would have extensive knowledge and understanding of autism and SEND Would be willing to provide personal care where needed The following skills would be advantageous: Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with students, their families, and other professionals involved in their education A knowledge of Makaton, PECS communication, and Autism Awareness would be a HUGE advantage Patience and empathy to support and understand the unique needs and challenges faced by students with special needs Knowledge of various learning strategies and accommodations to help students with different abilities succeed in their education Ability to build positive relationships and create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with special needs Benefits of working with Monarch Education: You will be paid a competitive daily wage, based on your experience.
