What if you could do the kind of work the world needs?
At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.
Our Land team are seeking Senior Land Consultants to join our UK team. The location is based in our Birmingham Mailbox offices. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the largest Land business in the UK and to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to the success of high-profile infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland. Your focus of this exciting new role and opportunity is to help manage the delivery of detailed, high quality land ownership information and provide land advice to our clients for a pipeline of some of the most exciting infrastructure projects in the UK today.
Our clients develop major rail, energy, highways and water infrastructure for which they need government approval. As a Principal Land Consultant, you will manage the technical delivery of land referencing projects ensuring the validity, accuracy and auditability of information collected. You will work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing a team of Land Consultants to deliver the necessary information required to identify, notify, engage, gain access to lands and subsequently compensate landowners for any impact caused by scheme development.
You will provide support to the project owner by delivering technical elements of projects on time, within budget and to the agreed standards.
There are further opportunities to provide training to our wider Land team, widening your involvement into new sectors and regions, working with our Land & Property and Surveying Services teams and alongside our Digital, Environmental and Planning colleagues to gain a broader understanding of infrastructure development. WSP will support your chartership and membership with professional institutions and facilitate volunteering in local communities.
If you wish to attain professional chartership of the RICS, RGS and APM can pursue this via the WSP Land Academy (subject to the professional body recognizing existing qualifications). Under the umbrella of the Land Academy, and as appropriate to the chartership route taken, candidates will choose a mentor, have regular meetings with their mentor, and be able to access training, be this internal training or external events.
