In this exciting new role to the business you will be integral in identifying and addressing customer needs by developing a strategic roadmap that integrates consultancy and optimization services. Your insights will shape strategies with measurable ROI, investment scenarios, and long-term savings. This role requires both technical expertise and commercial acumen, as you will act as the bridge between operational delivery and customer relationships, ensuring commercially successful outcomes. You will also have the opportunity to present these strategies at board level, helping customers navigate sustainability and carbon reduction goals with confidence.
The role:
Understanding customer needs through technical exploration and discovery.
Designing architectural roadmaps that integrate consultancy and optimization services.
Translating reporting insights into actionable strategies with clear business impact.
Presenting solutions at the executive level to drive long-term partnerships.
Aligning technical solutions with commercial outcomes and account management.
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of UK carbon and energy compliance schemes & regulations
* Understanding of the UK sustainability market, competitors, and various approaches
* Familiarity with building systems and financial models
* Contracting & commercial models (fixed fee, commission, gain-share)
* ROI, investment, cost & carbon impact analysis
* Waterfall charts & Marginal Abatement Cost Curves
* Knowledge of carbon accounting and foot printing
* Comfort with energy data analysis and market research
* Ideally experience in project management of capital projects up to £1M
* Strategic consulting experience in a relevant field
* Experience with consultative sales methodologies (e.g., Miller Heiman)
* Track record of identifying customer needs & developing commercial opportunities
* Understanding of contracting procedures, including partnership agreements and subcontracting
* Experience in revenue generation, pipeline reporting, and delivering against KPIs
* Budget and forecasting experience (revenue, margin, cost, cash flow)
* Passion for sustainability and making a real-world impact
* Highly collaborative, with a consultative approach to problem-solving
* Comfortable balancing technical depth with commercial strategy
* Ideally you will have a degree in Engineering, Business, Management or Marketing and Prince2/PMQ
