About the role
As a Productivity Engineer, you will use your technical skill set to develop the Warehouse Labour Model (WLM) for each area in the Waitrose Supply Chain, as well as being influential in the productivity performance analysis for the third party run sites. Working collaboratively with site managers to ensure improved productivity through work measurement techniques such as predetermined motion time systems (EG MTM, MSD), rated activity sampling, and time and motion study data to influence efficient processes. You will hold Partners to account and escalate when required if productivity improvement opportunities are not being realised. Using your productivity lens and working with the entire Supply Chain team, you will improve commercial performance and budgeting with the Supply Chain.
Our Productivity Engineer will be responsible for:
* Measure and create the productivity and performance data for all Supply Chain sites.
* Create a 'bottom up' feed of site based data and insight.
* Set a framework for collaboration with 3rd parties and unions.
* Have ultimate accountability and ownership of the labour models and all associated processes and guidance across Supply Chain sites. Ensure that the data which provides operating and productivity models and warehouse budgets is kept up to date and reflects all changes in operating processes.
* Use insight from modelling of proposed propositions, future sites, and scenarios to assess productivity impacts and costs.
* Use work measurement techniques such as predetermined motion time systems (EG MTM, MSD), rated activity sampling, and time and motion study data to influence efficient processes and stock locations across sites.
* Support site management teams with trade union negotiations on productivity issues and changes in third party run sites.
* Recommend areas for further investigation from a productivity perspective.
* Escalate as required when productivity improvement opportunities are not being realised.
Essential skills you'll need
* IMS Certificate or currently in the process of completing the certification.
* Stakeholder Management & Influencing skills. Experience of working with a range of stakeholders across a variety of levels.
* Commerciality - Demonstrates a sound understanding of Supply Chain. This includes knowledge of our competitors and the wider social, political and economic factors which impact our business.
Desirable Skills
* Experience of using and configuring Blue Yonder WLM.
* Ability to model warehouse layouts using AutoCAD.
* Experience of Tectime data systems (iePro).
