Planning Manager – Residential (Town Planning) – £50,000 – £60,000 plus benefits
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 plus package
Location: Surrey

Requirements:
1. Educated to degree level with relevant Town Planning Knowledge and MRTPI accreditation.
2. Minimum of 2 years post qualification private sector experience working either for a residential developer, or in the residential team of a planning consultancy.
3. Full driving licence with car.
Job Description/Role:
1. Carry out planning appraisals of sites assessing the suitability to provide both immediate and strategic residential development opportunities. This requires a full understanding of current and emerging local and national planning policy.
2. Take the lead role in obtaining planning permission for our residential schemes through the management of sites throughout the planning process. This will involve the initial appointment of architects and other consultants to produce the required application material, pre-application meetings with planning officers, submission of applications, negotiation with officers once a scheme is submitted and the eventual discharge of planning conditions if consent is achieved.
3. Secure post permission amendments to schemes through the submission of non-material amendment (s96a) applications and minor-material amendment (s73) applications.
4. Management of planning appeals.
5. Monitoring of Councils' emerging development plans for our core business areas and the drafting and submission of representations to support our business interests in a given administrative area.
6. Monitoring councils' 5 year housing supply positions and advising of potential opportunities within areas of identified or emerging shortfall.
