Travel opportunities to other AMP plants as required. 2 direct reports - Production Manager & Engineering Manager PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Manufacturing Manager will progressively expand his/her sphere of responsibility whilst continuing to report and take direction from the Plant Manager. Work to achieve zero last time accidents. Help ensure the Plant is compliant with all Environmental, H&S and Legislative requirements Help ensure the Plant maintains company house- keeping standards Review and reduce Energy usage Responsibility Core activities Framework Quality To ensure that cans are manufactured in accordance with company process, product specifications and high- quality standards Assist the Plant Managers in establishing, maintaining and developing an effective working relationship with all key stakeholders Promote & drive a zero-defect culture Responsibility Core activities Framework Output Process improvement projects Continuous Improvement projects Review lean and best practices Help translate strategic objectives into local plant-based targets Ensure the Plant complies with all relevant legal requirements Review breakdown and understood root causes and recommend solutions Help translate strategic objectives into local Plant based targets Support long-lasting and sustainable success with provision of recommendations with supporting data Assist the Plant Manager in directing the Engineering function to provide manufacturing equipment which is maintained and capable of meeting performance standards in terms of quality, output and costs. Assist Plant Manager in directing the Production team to operate the manufacturing equipment in accordance with established procedures and practices in order to meet manufacturing KPI’s. Assist through the functional managers in creating an environment of constant development and operational improvement including benchmarking and use of Lean Six Sigma and other recognised practices Responsibility Core activities Framework Financials Capex Projects Ensure the Plant meets the agreed output requirements, agreed cost base and its financial objectives Assist the Plant Managers in improving the cost base of the Plant on a sustainable basis commensurate with the recognition of team performance, the condition of the equipment and infrastructure. Assist in conjunction with other related business functions in taking a leading role in improving the cost base of the Plant. Assist in identifying capital programmes within the Plant which enhances performance, sustains our operations and provides compliance to legislative requirements. Assist in managing the overall finances of the operation to meet / improve upon budget requirements.
