Role: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter
Hours: Mon to Fri, 8am till 6pm
Salary: £44,000 to £46,000 per annum, plus overtime and benefits
Location: Commutable from Horsham, Crawley, Royal Tunbridge Wells, East Grinstead, Uckfield, Caterham surrounding areas

A well established and medium sized manufacturer are on the look-out for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter to join the team! Being a small and growing company, you'll benefit from working in a small team and in a role that is varied, challenging and fast paced. The hiring manager is hands on, down to earth and has been in the company for many years. The Maintenance Engineering department is focused and work mostly reactively to breakdown and problems, and therefore need someone who is comfortable in being quick on their feet, enjoys the chase, fault finding and repairs, and above all, loves to get their hands dirty. If you're a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer and have ANY/SOME experience of motors, belts, bearings, shafts, chains, pumps, hydraulics, gear boxes, pneumatics etc., please apply.

Responsibilities
1. Mechanical Maintenance of all plant and machinery through fault finding, planned maintenance, breakdowns and project work.
2. Mechanical maintenance work across all equipment and machinery.
3. Working within a team of 4 maintenance Engineers.
4. Most of the work will involve breakdowns and working reactively to production line problems.
5. Work within a team who cover both mechanical and electrical work.
6. Ensure the stores are stocked and replaced of anything removed.
7. Help identify and offer solutions to ongoing maintenance issues.
8. To be actively involved in the development of the PPM program.
9. Complete maintenance paperwork.
Requirements
1. Experience of mechanical maintenance, ideally within a similar manufacturing or production environment.
2. ANY of the following mechanical skills/experience is desirable; Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Belts, Bearings, Chains, Motors, Gearboxes, Pumps, Welding, etc.
3. Any form of multi-skilled experience would be desirable but not essential.
4. Apprentice trained and/or hold a qualification in a relevant field such as Mechanical Maintenance Engineering would be desirable.
5. Friendly and adaptable working attitude, with good problem-solving and prioritisation skills.
6. Willing to learn and turn your hands to all engineering areas.
