This is an entry level position for the Version 1 Service Desk team, where you will be given the opportunity to join a 24/7 Service Desk and End User support team made up of 40+ Service Desk staff covering a wide range of knowledge. Several members of the team are experienced IT graduates who have all gained these skills on the job in the past few years and as such are now operating at Level 2/3. You will manage various Level 1 tasks while gaining invaluable key skills alongside accomplished and knowledgeable teammates. Growth and personal development is something that is expected in this role. If you’re driven to learn, you’ll finish your first year in this role having developed skills on the job that you would not get in any other Level 1 role in the country.
You’ll gain experience working with both staple and cutting-edge technologies, such as Microsoft Windows (End User and Server), Linux, Microsoft Azure, AWS, and more.
You’ll also benefit from a career plan outlined by the Service Desk management team, with clear objectives tracked quarterly to make sure both you and your manager are happy with your performance and development plans to upskill on the job.
Tasks will include:
* Managing customer requests and responding to incidents, i.e. calls for assistance, within a short timeframe.
* Monitoring customer systems for critical alerts and ensuring they are dealt with efficiently.
* Maintaining and supporting customer IT systems such as workstations, Office 365, anti-virus and the individual users.
Qualifications
*Must meet the minimum requirements for the BMET Cyber Security course.*
*Must be eligible for SC security clearance (see additional info for link).*

Additional Information
100% on site (4 days in Version 1 Belfast office + 1 day Belfast MET Castlereagh Campus).
Applicants must have applied for the Level 5 Cyber Security with Cloud and Network Infrastructure course through Belfast MET starting November 2025.
Version 1's 2025 apprenticeship programme is targeted at people in Northern Ireland who have no formal education higher than Level 4.

The BMET course will start in October but we will be starting the job role in September to get successful applicants onboarded and settled in to the office.
