As a band 6 midwife you will be expected to work in collaboration with other multidisciplinary professionals enhancing and promoting the health and wellbeing of mothers and neonates in line with local and national standards relating to maternity care and referrals as appropriate. You will be required to work in all areas of the service including obstetric theatre and the community as necessary and work as part of a Continuity of Care Team as per the national maternity plan. You may also be required to take part in an on-call Rota should the service require this. As a midwife you will be committed to achieving the Trust’s targets regarding the Government’s public health agenda.
To provide high quality, safe, evidence based, holistic midwifery care to women in all maternity care settings including antenatal care, labour and birth, and postnatal care settings as well as parent education across the MSE. To provide continuity of care and to work in partnership with the women, to provide women centered, personalised midwifery care.

• To enable woman to remain the focus of care and as her advocate to encourage her to participate in her care plans based on good communication and evidence – based information.
• Assess, plan and deliver total midwifery care for a caseload of women within the community, prioritising workload and management of time.
