Are you an experienced Technical Buyer with a passion for motorsport? We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join the Supply Chain at Aston Martin F1 Team as a Lead Technical Buyer.
Responsibilities:
1. To procure and expedite the components used across an F1 car – ensuring components are purchased with Quality, Cost & Lead time considered and ensure all risks to the business are mitigated based on the requirement.
2. Inform relevant stakeholders within the business of any delays or issues within the supply chain, ensuring the ERP system is updated to reflect expected delivery dates.
3. Ensure suppliers selected can meet all specifications and quality standards defined by AMF1 design.
4. Support the Direct Procurement Manager with sourcing strategy and planning with focus on reducing lead-times, increasing agility, delivery performance & achieving best value.
5. Support the Direct Procurement Manager in day to day running of the Direct Procurement team and be able to take ownership of key projects.
6. Lead by example and set the benchmark in all departmental KPI’s, processes and behaviours for other team members to follow.
7. Onboarding of new suppliers in conjunction with the Supplier Quality Team to enhance the supply chain capability and capacity.
8. To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally always, and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure.
9. Any other duties as reasonably requested aligned to your job role.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
1. Possess good overall knowledge of Formula One or similar component procurement with an excellent working knowledge of multiple manufacturing processes. At least two years in a similar role is desirable.
2. Possess excellent problem solving skills with an ability to think outside of the box and to clearly describe practical solutions.
3. Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, D365 or similar.
4. Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite including but not limited to Word, Excel and Power BI.
5. To be self-motivated and to motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment.
6. Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.
7. To communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues.
8. To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment.
9. Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills.
