Business Analyst (Retirement Domain)
Job Location: Edinburgh ( 3 days from office)

Primary Skills:
1. Hands-on experience in capturing and translating business and compliance requirements into technical specifications
2. Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum) and project management tools like Jira and Confluence
3. Expertise in Business-Driven Development (BDD) approach to ensure requirements meet regulatory standards
4. Strong communication skills for coordinating between stakeholders, regulatory experts, and technical teams
5. In-depth knowledge of UK and EU retirement regulations (e.g., pensions, workplace pensions, defined contribution/defined benefit schemes, IRAs, and personal pensions)
6. Strong understanding of UK regulatory bodies (e.g., The Pensions Regulator (TPR), Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)) and EU regulations (e.g., IORP II, GDPR compliance)
Responsibility:
1. Analyse existing processes and workflows along with its baseline performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders, clients, and teams to gather, analyze, and document detailed business requirements, focusing on the needs of retirement products and services.
3. Serve as a key liaison between the product owner, development team, and stakeholders. Translate business needs into user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria in an Agile Scrum environment.
4. Work with product owners and development teams to prioritize and refine the product backlog, ensuring that requirements are clearly defined and ready for sprint cycles.
5. Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather requirements, validate assumptions, and ensure stakeholder alignment on project goals and outcomes.
6. Use collaboration and documentation tools like Jira for tracking tasks and user stories, Confluence for project documentation, Miro for visual collaboration, and Figma for wireframing and prototyping.
7. Assist in defining UAT plans, work with stakeholders to validate solutions, and ensure that all business requirements have been met.
8. Work with relevant teams to collect, analyze, and interpret data from retirement products, offering actionable insights for product improvement.
9. Ensure that all solutions are compliant with relevant retirement industry regulations and standards (e.g., ERISA, fiduciary rules, IRS regulations).
10. Stay updated on the latest industry best practices, trends, and regulatory changes in the retirement domain. Implement these into your analysis and recommendations.
Technology:
1. Jira and Confluence for managing Agile documentation and compliance requirements
2. Familiarity with BDD tools (e.g., Cucumber) to define clear and regulatory-compliant acceptance criteria
3. Understanding of GDPR and its impact on system design and data handling in cloud environments
4. Nice to have retirement domain experience.
