An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative, dynamic individual to join the team responsible for the Community Inpatient Wards in East Berkshire.
Henry Tudor Ward at St Marks Hospital, Maidenhead provides discharge to assess, medical optimisation, sub-acute medical and rehabilitation care to older patients across the East of Berkshire.

Main duties of the job
* Ensuring smooth and efficient management and day to day running of Henry Tudor Ward
* To provide visible, first line management to the nursing and administrative staff on the ward
* Work with acute, community services and local stakeholders both within the locality and outside to ensure the timely and appropriate transfer of patients into the community hospital and onwards to their future destination.
* To provide guidance and advice in both basic and complex issues surrounding patient and staff needs.
* To act as a role model to all staff, demonstrating a high level of patient care and clinical leadership

The “must haves” for this role:
* 1st Level current NMC registration (RGN or RN (adult))
* Leadership/ management qualification, or willing to complete
* Previous experience at band 6 working within a ward environment
Are you an innovative individual who is looking for a fresh challenge?
The post holder will have responsibility for the leadership and operational management of Henry Tudor Ward and the successful applicant will join our experienced multidisciplinary team of skilled and highly motivated staff in our 24 bedded In-patient Community ward. We deliver quality services for patients requiring generic rehabilitation for mostly older persons, deliver frailty, subacute and discharge to assess pathways. The post will give you an opportunity to be part of a service with an exciting future and a key part of the NHS Ageing Well program.
It is recognised that specific skills and knowledge are required to deliver competent and compassionate care to patients with complex needs. This post provides maximum learning and development opportunities which will equip you to care for a range of patients in a community clinical setting. This opportunity will allow you to experience a holistic view of services and gain knowledge of the full range of health and social services available for patients, both within hospital environment and other services in the community.
Working pattern + Service operating hours:
The post is a full time position, working Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30, but we encourage you to get in touch if you wish to enquire about flexible working.
