Our client, a distinguished name in the construction sector, is currently seeking two skilled Quantity Surveyors to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for professionals with substantial experience in large-scale construction projects, looking to further their careers in a supportive and rewarding environment. The position offers flexibility to work both on a permanent and contract basis, catering to various clients in the South West region, with a primary office base in Bristol 1-2 days a week and occasional travel to Bridgend.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing comprehensive pre-contract and post-contract commercial services on significant UK infrastructure and construction projects.
2. Administering or auditing contracts, specifically NEC, NR, and FIDIC, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
3. Leading project delivery teams within client organisations or consultancies, fostering collaboration and successful project outcomes.
4. Structuring evaluations and recommendations, offering advisory services to clients on project feasibility and developments.
5. Maintaining client-side focus, ensuring client requirements and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Engaging with stakeholders, ensuring transparent and effective communication at all stages of the project.
7. Managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting to ensure project financial health.
8. Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies to manage project risks.
Job Requirements:
1. Extensive experience in quantity surveying within the construction sector, specifically on buildings and large-scale infrastructure projects.
2. Strong understanding of NEC, FIDIC, or CEMAR contracts, with any additional experience considered advantageous.
3. Previous experience working on complex construction projects circa £20 million in value within the Built Environment, Rail, MOD, Nuclear etc sectors.
4. Proven ability to work on client-side, managing client expectations and requirements effectively.
5. Professional qualifications in quantity surveying or a related discipline.
6. Excellent organisational and time-management skills, capable of leading teams and managing multiple priorities.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
8. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and team members.
