We are delighted to be advertising a Specialist Band 7 Team Lead Physiotherapy post in our Surgical Team.
You will be working with patients who are under the care of the surgical teams in a range of regional speciality services.
Thoracic surgery
Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery
Hepato-Biliary surgery
Max-Fax surgery
ENT surgery
Lower Gastrointestinal surgery
As Team Lead, alongside a Band 7 OT, you will be managing a team of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy colleagues, along with an Apprentice Physio and Therapy Technicians.
You will be working with the surgical and nursing teams to embed Therapies in all aspects of surgical care, fully optimising timely care and patient flow. You will be part of the patient pathway from high care through to discharge.
Main duties of the job

This is in addition to our in-service training programs and staff appraisal systems that are in operation to help you develop and to meet the demands of the post.
We are looking for a Physiotherapist who is already a skilled clinician with previous related surgical care experience. You will be naturally empathetic, demonstrating good communication skills to facilitate close working relationships with both service users and staff.
You will need to be creative and flexible to meet the changing needs of the caseload and service.
You will demonstrate leadership qualities and take an active interest in the teaching and development of others.
You will manage your own caseload, alongside overseeing the workload of the other team members.
There will be a commitment to 1:4 weekend working + 2 bank holidays throughout the year. There is also a requirement to contribute to the Respiratory on-call rota.
