Are you an experienced HSE Manager looking to utilise your skills in a fast-paced, growing organisation? We have an opportunity for a full-time, permanent HSE Manager to join our Safety and Compliance Team based at our Birmingham Hangar.
The successful candidate will co-ordinate and support STS Aviation Services UK Ltd in all aspects of Health, Safety and Environment. You will establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training, and systems. This is an exciting opportunity to join STS and play a key role in shaping HSE within the organisation.
Job Duties:
* Support Management with advice and guidance around HSE Policy and Guidelines issue.
* Support Management in the Organisation to define roles and responsibilities in relation to Health and Safety.
* Implementation and development of HSE Management Systems.
* Ensure, in accordance with the corporate guidelines, the implementation, updating, review, and auditing of the Company HSE Systems.
* Monitor the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environment System procedures and work with key stakeholders to ensure they are updated in line with changes in Legislation and Company Directives.
* Drive motivation and familiarisation of all Company employees to ensure understanding of the importance of complying with Company system procedures and all Safety equipment provided.
* Assist Commercial, Engineering and Operations Departments in their dealings with Clients in all issues concerned with Health and Safety at work.
* Conduct internal and external safety audits.
* Carry out analysis of accident/incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans.
* Provide technical support to Senior Management on any safety-related subjects.
* Identify and carry out in-house safety training.
* Participate in HAZOP meetings prior to procurement and installation activities.
* Perform Risk Assessment as required.
* Prepare Health and Safety documentation for new tenders.
* Provide Safety support and advice, including supervision on preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start-up activities.
Personal Specification & Qualifications:
* NEBOSH National General Certificate or IEMA Foundation certificate in Environmental Management as a minimum.
* Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
* Knowledge of the aviation industry would be an advantage.
* Professional approach, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
* Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Ability to work in, and adapt to, a rapidly changing environment.
* Ability to work cooperatively with others to complete tasks and implement process improvements.
* Experienced in gathering, analysing and reporting on key H&S data/statistics.
* Demonstrate a flexible and co-operative approach.
This role will require the successful candidate to support the business with their Military Programme. Therefore, you will be required to undertake security clearance checks and meet our qualifying criteria. This will be discussed with shortlisted candidates as part of the interview process.
