TeacherActive are currently looking to recruit several SEND Teachers to support a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities school in Southampton. The school caters for children aged 5-11 who experience social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, along with a variety of additional needs such as ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), and other associated disabilities.
We are looking for a SEND Teacher who can make a positive impact in the lives of children who need tailored, hands-on support in a child-centred learning environment. The successful candidate will be working in a setting where every child receives the support they need to become independent learners, with a strong focus on developing social, emotional, and behavioural skills through practical, real-life activities.
The successful SEND Teacher will have:
Experience working within SEND settings, preferably with children who experience social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
QTS and a minimum of 6 months’ experience (ECTs are welcome).
Excellent classroom management skills to support a diverse range of needs.
A caring, nurturing personality, with the ability to work closely with children, parents, and outside agencies.
