The Wood Recyclers’ Association (WRA) was established in 2001 and now has more than 120 member companies representing 90 per cent of the UK’s wood recycling sector. We also have members from across Europe.
The WRA acts on behalf of its members to provide a voice for the sector at the highest levels, working closely with Government representatives, the environmental regulators, DEFRA, DESNZ and other trade associations and recycling bodies to influence and advise on issues affecting our industry, including legislation.
Our members span the whole waste wood supply chain and include wood recyclers and reprocessors, panel board mills, renewable energy suppliers, waste management companies, skip operators, pallet refurbishers, reuse organisations, laboratories, technology manufacturers, consultancies and specialist insurance and health & safety companies.
The Association is led by a board of nine, eight of whom are elected by the membership and give their time on a voluntary basis, plus the Executive Director.
