Business Development Manager – IT Hardware

The Role:
This is a consultative sales role where you will be expected to liaise with senior stakeholders for large value projects with both existing and new customers. Here’s some aspects of the role that you MUST be comfortable with:
1. Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a robust sales strategy to generate new business opportunities and increase wallet share with existing customers.
2. Pipeline: Pipeline management is crucial in this role. For every 10 meetings, they receive 7 quotes and convert 40% of them. Use these metrics as a baseline for your activity.
3. Lead Generation & Relationship Building: Proactively seek out and credibly engage with members of their decision-making unit.
4. Consultative Selling: Understand the unique needs of each client and provide tailored solutions that drive operational efficiency, productivity, and long-term success for their business.
5. Negotiation & Closing: Lead the negotiation process and provide value for your customer by exceeding their expectations and requirements. Close deals that meet or exceed revenue targets.
You will be supported by an SDR/BDR team who will pass leads and set up some visits for you. When you are up-to-speed, your sales target will be around £2m per year. Current high performers are earning £140k+ by exceeding these targets.
The Person:
It’s likely that you are a successful hardware/capital equipment sales person with a track record of exceeding your annual quota. You should be structured in your approach and understand how to influence your sales metrics – visits, quotes, orders etc.
The Rewards:
A basic salary of £50 – 60,000 is on offer with a host of ancillary benefits including Company Car/Allowance, Incentives, Pension and Healthcare. OTE is around £100,000 per year.
