Manages and/or leads the implementation and delivery of a range of PMO and project controls to support commissions. Leads and guides team members within the PMO and planning centre of excellence and assigned Hub as required.
Responsibilities:
1. Advocate Mace's value of safety first, ensuring exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, and project compliance standards.
2. Champion a diverse and inclusive working environment, prioritizing the wellbeing of team members.
3. Create and design effective implementations of PMO and project controls frameworks and strategies on assigned commissions.
4. Support best in class service delivery and engage with industry and professional bodies to promote Mace.
5. Manage PMO and project controls performance on assigned commissions.
6. Provide expert advice to the project team in the administration of the PMO and project controls process.
7. Facilitate periodic reporting and structured governance and performance meetings.
8. Accountable for developing and managing Baseline (scope, time, cost, risk, assumptions) and subsequent delivery performance.
9. Coordinate activities to ensure alignment with Mace Control Centre and client requirements.
10. Responsible for line management of a team of PMO and project controls members.
11. Provide technical expertise to mentor and assist the personal and career development of team members.
12. Support the HUB PMO and project controls director with resourcing and recruitment.
13. Work collaboratively towards the goal of net zero carbon transition.
Requirements:
1. Experience of effective PMO and project controls leadership on complex construction projects.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of risk tools, techniques, and software (e.g., MS Office, Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6).
3. Ability to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.
4. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence others.
5. Proven ability to articulate complex information for a non-technical audience.
6. Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
7. Relevant university degree (e.g., construction, engineering) or equivalent.
8. APM Planning and Project Controls (PPC) Foundation and Practitioner.
