Our client is a large local government organisation and looking for an experienced Employee Relations professional to join their team. This is initially a 3 month contract which may be extended for the right applicant You will ER Adviser: Work with the Head of Human Resources/Head of Organisation Development & Recruitment and the HR Business Partners to support service wide innovative workforce management practice to achieve business outcomes Advise leaders and managers in the Council and other partner organisations on employment best practice and on employment law Develop employment policy and guidance. Provide assistance and guidance to line managers to solve specific business delivery and development challenges either on a one-to-one basis or in groups in order to achieve business excellence. To act as a sounding board to other HR/OD team members. Identify opportunities to make proactive changes in work practices that contribute to HR/OD and continuous business improvement by looking for new solutions and innovative ways to solve problems and review whether the changes implemented are effective on an ongoing basis. Work with the HR Business Partners for effective planning and analysis to ensure alignment with business priorities. Act as an ambassador for the Council with partner organisations and customers, particularly with regard to the HR Service’s commercial operations. Liaise, influence and negotiate with trade union and other employee representatives. Work with key stakeholders and customers to ensure solutions meet customer needs.
