Job Advertisement: Science Teacher – Key Stage 3 (Alternative Provision School) Full-Time (Temp to Perm) We are seeking a committed and dynamic Science Teacher to join a Key Stage 3 Alternative Provision School on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with students who have faced challenges in mainstream education, helping them re-engage with learning in a supportive and structured environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent behaviour management skills, a strong sense of empathy, and the ability to keep students engaged in lessons. Many of the students have complex behavioural needs, and as a Science Teacher, you will play a crucial role in helping them rebuild their confidence and make academic progress. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and interactive Science lessons to Key Stage 3 students, adapting content to meet their individual needs and learning styles. Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm, safe, and focused classroom environment. Develop strong, positive relationships with students, showing empathy and understanding of their challenges. Keep students motivated and engaged by using creative teaching methods, hands-on experiments, and real-world examples. Work closely with other staff members, including teaching assistants and pastoral support, to ensure each student's academic and personal development is nurtured. Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and tailoring support to help them achieve their goals. Adapt teaching to the needs of students with special educational needs (SEN) and behavioural difficulties, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility. What We're Looking For: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification. Experience working in an Alternative Provision or with students who have behavioural needs or SEN. Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to keep students focused and on task. A passion for teaching Science in a way that is engaging, inclusive, and accessible to all learners. Empathy, patience, and a deep commitment to helping students overcome obstacles and succeed.
