Job Title: Social Worker (Children)
Working Hours: Hybrid
Rate: £35 per hour
Liquid Personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join a busy team in Sheffield, based within the Child Protection team.
Responsibilities:
As a Child Protection Social Worker, your primary responsibilities will include conducting assessments and investigations related to child protection cases, developing and implementing care plans for children and families, and collaborating with other professionals such as parents, social workers, and legal representatives. You will attend court hearings and provide evidence when necessary. Maintaining a child-centered approach, you will ensure the welfare and safety of every child by applying your knowledge of safeguarding procedures and regulations, identifying risks, and taking appropriate actions to protect children from harm. You will assess family dynamics, risk factors, and protective factors, and write clear and concise reports, including assessments, case notes, and court reports. Participation in multi-agency meetings and contributing to child protection plans will be essential. Collaboration with colleagues, including other social workers, health professionals, and educators, as well as liaising with external agencies such as police, schools, and health services, will be a key part of your role. You will also provide support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families. Staying up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices, attending training sessions, and continuous professional development opportunities are crucial. Upholding professional standards and adhering to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration requirements is essential.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified in a recognized social work degree (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
* Registration in SWE
* Experience in social work with children and families
* Eligible to work in the UK
* Hold a full UK license
* Post-qualified experience
Skills and Attributes:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, childcare law, and safeguarding issues
