Do you have great listening and communication skills and an interest in supporting people? We now have an opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team at Kirkwood Hall Extra Care, Leyburn. The Role Our Support Workers deliver excellent support services to vulnerable older people within our Extra Care and Sheltered schemes. You will assist with the coordination of services delivered within the scheme and engage in community development to ensure social inclusion for the residents. You will welcome new residents to their accommodation and assist them to settle into the scheme and make friendships. Developing and maintaining open and honest relationships with our residents, you will encourage them to participate and contribute to decision-making. Additionally, you will provide information to, and develop life skills for, residents to enhance their independence and quality of life, including health promotion. Participation in the development and implementation of a range of person centred social and learning activities for residents will also be a key part of the role. What are we looking for: Experience in a similar role Experience of coordinating multi-disciplinary services Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organisational levels. Able to problem solve and make sound judgements. Able to organise and prioritise a demanding workload Intermediate skills in I.T. software including Word and Excel A full driving licence with access to own vehicle and willingness to drive is essential.
