Successful Site Engineer HS2 candidate will be involved in the construction of the Ventilation Shaft based in Central London. The work will involve large diameter shaft construction using segmental / sprayed concrete lining and RC structures.
The Site Engineer will ensure that the Health Safety, Environmental Policies, and Procedures are effectively communicated to the workforce and implemented on the iconic HS2 project.
Suitable candidates will have previous experience with a large civil engineering contractor or sub-contractor.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Coordinate and plan daily work on site to ensure safety and efficiency.
* Work with subcontractors to prepare and implement Risk Assessment Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans, Permits, and Consents.
* Ensure Permit to Dig, Temporary Works, and other safety systems are in place.
* Liaise with the Site Foreman to adhere to safe work methods.
* Identify and complete temporary works needs in accordance with procedures.
* Conduct quality checks as per ITPs and document them properly.
* Manage non-conformance reports and resolve issues on site.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Experience on major civil engineering projects, especially large diameter shaft construction with segmental / sprayed concrete lining and RC structures.
* Strong safety and environmental awareness.
* Understanding of contract documentation, scopes of work, and record keeping.
* Ability to work independently, take ownership, and communicate clearly.
* Strong work ethic and team player with good communication skills.
* Excellent command of spoken and written English.
* Knowledge of specifications and tolerances.
* Solid understanding of construction processes.
* CSCS card required.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil engineering, or related field.
