Main duties of the job As a Learning and Disabilities Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with other services, agencies and organisations. Be required to developing specialist clinical skills in working with an offender population with a diversity of presenting problems, including psychosis and personality disorder, that feature alongside their learning disability and/or autism spectrum disorder. Be responsible for making a clinical judgment with regard to their immediate needs and long term treatment, administer medication as prescribed by the doctor within the guidelines for medicines administration. Provide a holistic package of care to patients within the prison system and manage the assessment of health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care, for the prison population, including clinical risk assessment.
