What's involved with this role: Interim Senior Building Control Surveyor Job Ref: Blackpool 0009 E440 / 1 Pay Rate: Competitive Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours Role Length: This opening assignment is for 1-2 months City: Blackpool Will consider remote (apart from site visits) but would like some small office attendance when needed. As a Building Control professional with at least 5 years of experience, you will provide expert advice and conduct technical assessments for a wide range of building control cases. You will independently handle both domestic and commercial projects, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations 2010 and other relevant legislation. Your duties will include plan checks, building inspections, enforcement of regulations, and dealing with dangerous structures and demolitions, while offering guidance to both internal and external stakeholders. Key duties: Manage a caseload of domestic and general non-domestic projects taking enforcement action as necessary Conduct site inspections, liaise with relevant organisations and consultees. Undertake site inspections in relation to dangerous structures and instruct necessary remedial actions where necessary Preparation of case files for enforcement or other legal action to maintain compliance with Building Regulations and the Building Act 1984 Key requirements: Registered with Building Safety Regulator as minimum Class 2E (Assessment & Inspection) Full membership in CABE, RICS or MCIOB Full driving licence and access to a car. Detailed knowledge of building construction and excellent knowledge of Building Regulations.
