Job Overview The Neurology Team at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust have a long-established commitment to those with multiple sclerosis (MS). An exciting opportunity has arisen for an MS Specialist Nurse to assist in the development and future growth of local services on our Frimley Park site for a fixed term contract of 12 months to cover maternity leave. Although based at Frimley Park, the post holder will be part of the wider MS service which covers all 3 sites and required to work across the footprint of the organisation. The post holder will be supported by the existing MS nursing team at Frimley Park and Wexham Park and our consultant colleague’s cross site. Frimley Heath is a prescribing centre for disease modifying therapies (DMT) which we have been offering for many years and MS therapeutics is undergoing significant growth. Multidisciplinary team (MDT) working is an essential part of this role and building relationships with our community colleagues and those from other NHS Trusts is vital to the development of this new service working within the neurology integrated care service. This is an exciting role for an enthusiastic and forward thinking nurse who has a passion for delivering innovative and first class care and wants to further develop their interest in MS. Main duties of the job On-going development of and administering treatment pathways for first and second line DMT’s and emerging NICE approved MS therapies including blood monitoring. Caseload management of MS patients referred by Frimley Health consultant neurologists. Run nurse led clinics at Frimley Park, Aldershot Centre for Health, Farnham Hospital, Heatherwood Hospital or Wexham Park. Assist in the on-going development of MS clinical service for the benefit of the patients, as laid out in the key tasks and responsibilities of the job description.
