Job title: Independent Domestic Violence Advocate

Job description: Bromley & Croydon Women’s Aid is seeking to recruit an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to provide a high-quality pro-active service to victims of domestic & sexual violence and abuse in Bromley. The IDVA will address the safety of the client and their children, assessing the client’s needs and risk level. You will discuss options with clients and deliver a range of interventions as well as develop safety plans, and support clients through civil or criminal courts. You will work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic & sexual abuse.
You will have previous experience working in the domestic/sexual abuse field and will have a strong understanding of the needs and issues specific to survivors of domestic abuse. SafeLives/CAADA training certificate in domestic abuse is preferable. You should be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. The person we are looking for will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, providing high-quality tailored advocacy and support based upon a client-led needs and risk assessment.
The post will require home working initially; this will be reviewed subject to pandemic restrictions.

Salary: £26,500 PA
