Interim Head of HR (ER & Transformation) Locations: Remote (occasional travel to London and Southwest) Salary: £57k pro rata Job type: FTC - 6 months Latham & Bond HR are working with a Not for Profit to appoint an Interim Head of HR (ER and Transformation) Our client are seeking an experienced Head of ER to lead our organisation through a period of significant transformation. This critical role will involve overseeing collective consultation processes, managing employee relations, and driving organisational change initiatives. As the organisation undergoes substantial shifts, it is essential that the successful candidate has demonstrable experience in leading collective consultations, including working closely with trade unions to achieve constructive outcomes. Prior expertise in navigating complex employee relations within unionised environments is compulsory. To demonstrate your capabilities, candidates invited to interview will be provided with a case study in advance, requiring an in-depth discussion of the change management strategies, leading collective consultation and processes you have successfully led. Responsibilities of Head of HR (ER and Transformation): Restructures and Organisational Design Lead organisational restructuring projects, design and implement effective organisational structures to align with business objectives. Ensure smooth transitions during change processes, minimising disruption and maintaining employee engagement. Trade Union Management Lead collective consultation, all processes relating to and part of this Act as the primary point of contact for trade union representatives, negotiate and consult effectively on behalf of the organisation regarding collective agreements and workforce changes. Handle union disputes, ensuring fair outcomes and maintaining compliance with legal obligations. Employee Relations: Oversee complex employee relations cases, ensuring compliance with employment law and best practices. Provide guidance and support to managers on grievance, disciplinary, and performance management issues. Leadership and Management of HR Team Provide day-to-day leadership and support to the HR team, ensuring delivery of HR services aligned with organisational goals. Mentor and develop HR team members, fostering a high-performance culture. Oversee the administration of core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and compliance. Ensure policies and procedures are up-to-date, legally compliant, and effectively implemented. Qualifications and Experience CIPD qualified Extensive experience in HR leadership roles, including managing complex restructuring Proven track record of managing trade union relationships and collective bargaining processes. Demonstrated success in leading change, organisational restructures and driving organisational design initiatives. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels.
