Elizabeth Courtauld Surgery in Halstead has a fantastic opportunity for a medical secretary to join their team on a part-time basis, for 30 hours per week. You will work within a busy, often demanding, but highly rewarding environment, supporting a forward-thinking practice that takes pride in its ‘can do’ attitude. You will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties for the clinical and administration teams. Main duties include: Processing of patient information (both electronic and paper based) in a timely manner. Liaising with secondary care, community service providers and external agencies in accordance with current policies. Using the electronic referral system. About the Candidate You will have the following skills and experience: A team player, who always acts with integrity and leads by example, with reference to promoting excellent customer service, communication with patients, equality, diversity and patient confidentiality. The ability to type medical referral letters, with a minimum speed of 60wpm. Excellent written skills with attention to detail and the ability to adapt letters for clinicians. Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes, in particular Microsoft Word and Outlook. Previous secretarial experience or a qualification is an advantage.
