Engineering Manager (CEM/CRE)
We're looking for an Engineering Manager (CEM/CRE) to join our Kier Transportation Rail team assisting on several rail related projects across the Northwest. If you think you are the right match for the following opportunity, apply after reading the complete description.
Location: Greater Manchester and surrounding areas - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required

Contract: Full Time, Permanent
What will your responsibilities be?
1. Undertake Design Management and act as a Discipline Specialist during delivery stage.
2. Manage interfaces between Design and Construction teams throughout project development lifecycle to ensure most efficient and effective solutions reached.
3. Undertake discipline specific CRE‐Construction duties as defined by Network Rail Company Standards of appointed by CEM / Authorised Discipline Engineer.
4. Delivery of Engineering Assurance (Design and Construction) on a single project or portfolio of smaller projects at tender and contract stage.
5. Manage the production of the required deliverables in accordance with the tender/ECI programme.
6. Support Tender and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) with technical support and management of the design for innovative; compliant and value engineered solutions.
7. Engage with specialist suppliers both at tender and contract stage.
8. Identify project inputs early by developing and maintaining survey and investigation schedules and associated deliverables to inform design development of permanent and temporary works.
What are we looking for?
1. You will have been approved as a CEM within a (similar) rail contracting organisation & have extensive railway, civils project experience.
2. Act, Communicate and be seen as a strong influencer on Safety, demonstrating and supporting the achievement of high safety, health & wellbeing, environmental and quality standards.
3. Experience as CEM / Engineering Manager in a multi-disciplinary rail contracting environment is essential.
4. Be professionally qualified or working towards professional qualifications with relevant engineering institutions or bodies.
