Job summary Responsible for the management of all technical services for the Prosthetics Department within the University of North Midlands NHS Trust. Based in the Royal Stoke University Hospital the post holder will provide technical leadership and line management to the team of maxillo-facial and dental technologists. Reporting to the Directorate Manager the post holder will ensure the key functions of a Head of Department are undertaken for the Trust through effective leadership, the setting, monitoring and maintenance of professional and quality standards, collaborative working and management of complaints. Encompassed in the role is the necessity to evaluate and implement new technologies as they are developed. The post holder will provide technical advice, complex technical tasks, administrative work, management of health and safety, manage the technologists and provide innovative solutions to technical, workforce and capacity management. The post holder will be responsible for the annual budget of the department. In addition the post holder is required to build and manage external income via private business. The post holder will support the University Hospital's management team in the development and improvement of the technical services to the hospital.
