Masterclass Education are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to support children with challenging behaviour.

They are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team. The Learning Support Assistant will work closely with teachers and other educational professionals to provide individualised support and assistance to children who show challenging behaviour. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and contribute to their educational and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning difficulties.
2. Assist students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, mathematics, and other areas of the curriculum, adapting teaching strategies and resources to meet individual learning needs.
3. Support students with personal care tasks, mobility, communication, and social interaction, promoting independence, dignity, and inclusion.
4. Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies, monitoring progress and adjusting interventions as needed.
5. Foster positive relationships with students, providing encouragement, motivation, and emotional support to help them overcome challenges and achieve success.
6. Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques to support students with challenging behaviour and promote a safe and supportive learning environment.
7. Maintain accurate records of support provided, including progress notes, observation logs, and communication with parents and other stakeholders.
8. Participate in training, professional development activities, and team meetings to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting students with special educational needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
2. Relevant qualifications in education, special education, psychology, or related fields are advantageous.
3. Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of students.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students, parents, and colleagues.
5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting the implementation of individualized support plans and educational strategies.
6. Flexible, adaptable, and resilient, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
