Marketing Manager - Caudwell Marine Summary: Caudwell Marine is a start-up engineering company, financially backed by John Caudwell, developing an innovative, patented outboard motor and Vessel Control System. The Caudwell Marine organisation is a small but growing, experienced team of people who are passionate about successfully bringing this technologically leading outboard motor to market. Each team member has a ‘hands on’ approach and supports each other for the benefit of the programme. The Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in driving our brand and product(s) launch to the global market in our quest to achieve a 25% market share in 3 years. This position will take ownership for developing and executing marketing strategies that drive awareness, recognition and engagement at boat operator level, and fuel our sales pipeline for our innovative product(s). The role will require close collaboration with the Head of Marketing, Marketing Assistant and other members of the business to ensure cohesive and effective marketing campaigns that drive results. We’re looking for someone who has previously worked at Assistant Marketing Manager or Marketing Manager level and is looking for their next challenge. You will have previously worked as part of a small Marketing team and will be used to rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in. You’re a Marketing All-rounder with some particular expertise in marketing project management, reporting and analysis, and won’t be afraid to craft creative artwork with an eye for detail and in line with brand guidelines. Someone who comes from similar or related sectors would be a candidate of interest. Additionally, you must live within a commutable distance of Coventry as this role requires you to be in the office for 3-4 days per week. Main Responsibilities: Marketing Strategy and Execution: Alongside the Head of Marketing, develop and implement marketing plans to support the global launch of our brand and product(s) and achieve a 25% market share in 3 years. In conjunction with other members of the team and industry partners, create compelling content and collateral to promote the business and its product(s) across various channels, including digital, print, and events. Coordinate with external agencies and vendors to produce high-quality marketing materials. Project manage the company’s attendance at exhibitions and trade events, ensuring all elements are fully costed, timed and project planned to ensure successful attendance and delivery against agreed event objectives. Content and Creative: Develop and manage content for various marketing channels, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines. Be a proficient user of design-based applications (e.g InDesign, Premier Pro) to be able to devise and create adverts, engaging social media posts, internal branded collateral, presentations, video snippets etc with external design agency support. Coordinate and oversee the creation of video content to support product promotion. Digital Marketing: Work closely with your colleagues in Team Marketing to execute digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media. Monitor and analyse digital marketing performance, providing regular reports and recommendations for optimisation. Utilise marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Buffer) and CRM systems (e.g., Hubspot, GoHighLevel) to manage campaigns and customer interactions. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape. Gather and analyse data to inform marketing strategies and decisions. Track key marketing metrics, activities, spends, and outcomes, providing insights to the Head of Marketing. Project Management and Collaboration: Be keen to take ownership of marketing projects, planning, delivering, executing and reporting on initiatives that drive awareness, recognition and engagement at boat operator level. Work alongside other teams within the business teams to coordinate marketing activities. Provide support and marketing guidance to the broader marketing team. Additional Duties: Assist with maintaining and updating the company website and content management systems. Provide cover for team members during absences and holidays. Stay current with marketing best practices and industry trends Person Specification: ESSENTIAL Skills and Experience: Degree in Marketing or relevant prior experience. Ability to handle and deliver projects to deadlines in fast-paced environments. Evidence of strong reporting and organisational skills - especially digital reporting (e.g Google Analytics interpretation) and measuring return on marketing investment Creative design skills and the ability to craft adverts and other creative content. Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Proactive, enthusiastic, and creative. Strong communication skills. Excellent understanding of current marketing practices. Other: This role will require 3/4 days working in our head office location (currently Stratford-upon-Avon, moving to Coventry from Nov 2024) with occasional travel required.
