Do you have the desire and skills to lead a team? Are you a confident and driven Vet, ready for the next step in your career as an experienced Small Animal Vet?
We have an unmissable opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to step up and join our friendly team at Bristol Imperial Vets4Pets, a well-established practice where some of our colleagues have worked since its doors opened!
About us:
The practice is independently run, by Ben Kelly and supported by a fantastic team, who are all committed to delivering an outstanding level of service in the community. We operate a Just Culture and have a great team spirit and through this have enabled a “proud to be part of the team” work ethos.
“After transferring to Vets4Pets Bristol Imperial from Cornwall, I was instantly made to feel at home. It's a busy practice where no two days are the same and everyone really pulls together. We are all valued as individuals and very much supported in our development.” Vet Surgeon, Bristol Imperial Vets for Pets
We are fortunate to have a very varied case load and cases can be worked up locally giving you the opportunity to develop any specific interests you have, with certification encouraged and fully funded. And due to having support from Referral Vets you can also gain experience from Orthopaedic Vets and Advanced soft tissue Surgeons.
Proud owners of an ISFM Silver Certificate Cat Friendly Clinic award, a RAW Silver Rabbit Friendly award and an approved Veterinary Nurse Training Practice, we also have all the facilities and equipment you’d expect from a thriving GP small animal practice.
The role and you:
No prior leadership experience required other than the clinical skills and desire to support your colleagues and lead a team who are ready to flourish.
Due to the nature of this role, we are therefore looking for an experienced vet with broad GP skills, leadership capabilities, exceptional communication skills and someone who will thrive from learning from the varied case load seen whilst providing the highest level of veterinary care. You will be pivotal in shaping the standards within the practice and putting your stamp on how care for your patients is provided.
You’ll be joining an excellent team with fellow vets who are keen to learn from you and develop their skills, junior vets who need mentoring, as well as a very supportive and experienced nurse and non-clinical team.
This is a fast-paced practice so ideally this is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week inclusive of 1 in 5 weekends. However, if these hours don’t quite suit you, we’d still love to hear from you and would be very happy to talk to you about your preferred hours.
In addition to a highly rewarding role, you can also expect to receive:
1. Competitive salary up to £80,000 DOE
2. No out of hours
3. 5.6 weeks holiday including bank holidays (pro rata), increasing with service
4. Paid professional memberships including RCVS and VDS
5. Dedicated CPD allowance including funding for Certificates
6. Life assurance 4 x annual salary
7. Contributory pension scheme
8. Relocation allowance
9. Colleague reward hub – exclusive offers and discounts online and on the high street, including 20% off at Pets at Home, Vets4Pets and the Groom Room
We are also ideally located in an area with great local amenities, plenty of parking and good public transport links with the train station and nearest airport just 15 minutes away. The M4, M5 and M32 are also easily accessible, taking you to other towns and cities within the UK including the beautiful Cotswolds and South-West coast which are also nearby.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
