The Role:
As a Training & Contracts Manager, you will combine your industry expertise with your leadership skills to oversee contracts while developing and delivering tailored training programs for our teams. You’ll ensure our projects are executed to the highest standards and our colleagues are equipped to succeed in their roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Development:
* Create and deliver hands-on training programs tailored to new recruits and experienced team members in horticulture, landscaping, and construction.
* Foster a positive and engaging learning environment for all colleagues.
* Stay updated on industry standards and innovations to ensure training content is relevant and effective.
* Assess skills and create personalized training plans to address gaps and support career progression.
* Maintain accurate training records and manage administrative tasks related to training programs.
Contracts Management:
* Oversee a portfolio of landscaping and construction contracts from initiation to completion.
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
* Conduct site visits to monitor work quality and compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to maintain strong relationships.
* Troubleshoot and resolve project-related issues promptly.
* Collaborate with senior management to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
About You:
We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on professional who thrives on developing people and managing projects.
Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in horticulture, landscaping, or construction industries, including expertise in:
* Grounds maintenance, turfing, planting, and equipment use.
* Application of herbicides (PA1 PA6 certification preferred).
* Experience in training, coaching, or mentoring teams, ideally with LANTRA instructor/assessor qualifications (preferred but not essential).
* Strong knowledge of health and safety standards and best practices.
* Exceptional organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
* Proven track record of managing contracts and budgets effectively.
