We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Geography Tutor to support a Year 8 student with high SEN (Special Educational Needs) for 3 hours per week at the student's home. The student requires tailored, engaging lessons to help them understand and enjoy Geography in a way that suits their unique learning style.
Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver individualized Geography lessons aligned with the student's learning needs and school curriculum.
* Use multi-sensory and interactive teaching methods to enhance understanding and engagement.
* Provide patient, supportive, and structured learning experiences, adapting approaches to suit SEN requirements.
* Build the student's confidence and interest in Geography.
* Liaise with parents/carers and, where appropriate, school staff to track progress and adjust teaching strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
* Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with high learning needs.
* Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum.
* Ability to use creative and adaptive teaching methods to meet individual learning styles.
* Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
* A relevant teaching qualification or significant tutoring experience is desirable.
* DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
