We are currently recruiting an Audit & Assurance Lead for our client in Aberdeen on a staff basis.
The role involves providing competent EHS advice to ensure continuous improvement and drive best practices across North Sea operations. The Audit and Assurance Lead will serve as the overall focal point for assurance activities, managing the Audit and Assurance schedule, identifying areas of non-compliance and best practices, and addressing these with department managers and Technical Authorities. The position requires occasional offshore travel to company assets.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading company audit and assurance activities related to Operations, EHS, drilling, and projects.
* Serving as Content Authority for the Internal Assurance Strategy document.
* Managing and tracking compliance with the Assurance Schedule.
* Coordinating Contractor Management audits and onboarding new Contractors.
* Planning, coordinating, and leading assurance activities as per the schedule.
* Producing monthly and quarterly audit and assurance reports, conducting trend analysis for improvements.
* Ensuring quality control of information within the Audit & Assurance Management System.
* Communicating key audit findings to relevant managers and authorities.
* Championing best practices through review of audit actions and trend identification.
* Providing coaching on auditing best practices and Assurance process use.
* Working with Technical Authorities to define audit content and risk-based frequency.
* Supporting Process Safety and Operational Integrity by linking audit actions to barriers via the bow-tie model.
* Supporting development of operational procedures and BMS strategy documents.
* Participating or leading incident investigations as required.
Desired Qualities/Qualifications
* Relevant university degree or HSE qualification (e.g., NEBOSH).
* Technical/industry qualifications such as Lead Auditor or ISO certifications.
* Offshore medical, survival, and MIST training certificates; offshore visits as required.
* Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, standards, and industry best practices.
* Experience in incident investigation using methodologies like COMET, TOPSET, or Tripod.
* Proven track record in the Oil and Gas industry.
* Excellent IT skills, including MS Office.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of information management systems and databases.
