Farm Shop Assistant
Within the range of £22,623 to £23,397 per annum pro-rata, plus an enhancement in lieu of annual leave* (£7,720.32 to £7,789.94 per annum)
15 hours per week, 38 weeks a year
This is a new exciting role following the opening of our college Farm Shop in December 2023. The Assistant will oversee the daily running of our cashless shop, selling a range of products that are made onsite by our learners or grown on the campus. As part of this role, you will ensure that all items are displayed and priced as well as maintain a clean and tidy space inside and out.
We are looking for someone with a passion for overseeing the development and driving the success of the shop, encouraging buying local and sharing information on all the products. A good knowledge of plants and/or floristry would be desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will also need to undertake some basic till training to be able to operate the till during opening times.
As part of your role, you will contribute to the wider College health and safety activity and therefore you should have a good understanding of health and safety and be prepared to undertake training in these areas e.g. first aid, food hygiene. You will also need to undertake a DBS check for this role.
This post is based at Suffolk Rural Campus however Suffolk New College is a multi-campus site therefore you may be required to work at and travel between campuses.
