Role Responsibility Active Kent & Medway is one of 43 Active Partnerships in England. We are hosted by Kent County Council and funded by Sport England. We are seeking someone with the expertise and drive to work with the Active Partnership to engage health and inclusion partners and stakeholders with our vision of getting “more people, more active, more often”. The role provides an exciting opportunity to make a difference within the health and sport and physical activity sectors across Kent and Medway. The Health, Equality & Inclusion Officer will be working alongside and supported by the Strategic Lead for Health & Physical Activity to advocate for, and support development of, physical activity opportunities in Kent and Medway where the need is greatest. The role is wide ranging and will include working with health and equality partners to support increases in physical activity in underrepresented groups and disadvantaged communities, contributing to reducing health inequalities. This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
