Purpose of Role
Unitspark are an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering contractor working within the UK construction industry, mainly within Water Utilities. We are now looking for a project manager to lead a team of engineers based on the Island for Electrical, Mechanical and Civil works.
Typical (non-exhaustive) duties may include:
1. Initial project feasibility, survey, project scoping, estimation, design.
2. Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
3. Develop project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets, and communicate these plans to stakeholders.
4. Planning and purchasing materials / sub-contractors as required.
5. Planning resource availability and skills requirements, liaising with internal staff to secure multi-disciplined internal labour.
6. Regular liaison with client representatives.
7. Adjusting project priorities and milestones based upon the customer’s changing needs.
8. Providing regular feedback on operational issues / concerns to stakeholders and senior managers.
9. Monitoring project budgets and assisting with data for commercial invoices.
10. Participate in a call-out rota to cover Clients 24/7 reactive breakdowns.
11. Planning and scheduling resources to meet project goals.
12. Adhere to Companies Policies, Procedures & Legal Practices.
13. Adhere to the Companies Health & Safety Policies & Procedures.
14. Adhere to the Companies Quality Management system.
15. Adhere to site-specific rules & regulations & to leave sites clean & tidy.
Essential for Role
1. Electrical or Mechanical Experience and qualifications.
2. Industrial Controls and Telemetry Experience.
3. Computer literate / good IT skills.
4. Ability to manage multiple projects.
5. HNC level of education as a minimum.
6. UK Driving License.
7. Good organisational and time management skills.
8. Good written and verbal communication skills.
9. Good budget management.
10. Ability to negotiate commercially.
11. Ability to work well with other teams within the company.
