Senior level building surveyor required to support in the delivery and mentoring of an expanding team in the London and Southeast region. You should be experienced in providing both professional and project delivery building surveying services working across a good breadth of sectors.
Our service offering tends to focus on regional and national programmes of work involving significant size and scale, working with both private and public sector clients. The offering includes:
5. Programmes of survey instructions that include Condition, Planned Preventative Maintenance, Dilapidations, Investment Due Diligence and Defect surveys.
6. Programmes of Refurbishment and Maintenance Project Delivery / Management and Contract Administration commissions.
7. Specialist services to include Party Wall and Bank/Fund Monitoring.
You’ll be responsible for:
8. Preparing feasibility studies and recommendations.
9. Scoping, estimating and presenting reports.
10. Undertaking surveys, design and specification services.
11. Respecting and help delivering services in accordance with best practice (and all legislation) in relation to asbestos, health and safety etc.
12. Preparing a timely and effective post contract administration and final account agreement.
13. Taking personal responsibility for service delivery.
14. Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
15. Working with associate directors and directors to construct bids for new work.
16. Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the internal database.
17. Assisting with new technology for data capture and reporting.
18. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the consultancy business of Mace across all sectors.
You’ll need to have:
19. Previous building surveying experience in a consultancy environment
20. Technical knowledge and competency in building surveying.
21. Good negotiation, presentation and report writing skills.
22. Strong IT skills.
23. Knowledge of construction materials and technology.
24. Knowledge of landlord and tenant and neighbourly matters.
25. Knowledge and understanding of construction costs.
26. Knowledge of AutoCAD for preparing specification drawings etc.
27. Understands and implements a Bid to Win strategy.
28. Ability to identify and recommend solutions to construction defects.
29. Proficient in specification writing and tender preparation.
30. Understanding of Contract Administration.
You’ll also have:
31. Ability to liaise with and influence senior leadership.
32. Ability to work independently and to tight timescales to achieve (key performance indicators (KPIs) and strategic outcomes.
33. Directs, coordinates and manages others within portfolio area.
34. Effective communication, personal accountability, critical thinking/ Works proactively within bid teams.
