MRICS Commercial / Residential Valuation Surveyor (Associate, Senior, Director level) - Hiring in Newcastle / Surrounding areas - Remote working
Specialist independent Valuation firm specializing in the valuation of commercial and residential real estate for loan security purposes.
Currently a team of under 20 (excluding consultants), they are looking for commercial Valuation Surveyors to join them as they level up with ambitions to become a major player nationwide.
Their work is mainly secured lending (approx. 70%), with the rest being private valuation / red book valuation work. Around 70% of their work is commercial; however, they have indicated that they will consider residential-only experience and can adjust the work to a degree to suit your preferences. The expected workload is typically 2-3 surveys per week depending on the size and complexity of the valuation.
Having spoken at length with the founder, who is very well connected in the lending world and comes across as a friendly, grounded, and level-headed leader, I believe it is likely a great opportunity to help drive a company forward that already has a strong market presence and platform for you to capitalize on. Naturally, you would expect career/progression opportunities to arise as the company expands.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 2.5 years Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
* MRICS/FRICS qualification and registered valuer status.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and remotely, managing time and tasks effectively.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Benefits:
* Basic Salary - Up to £75,500 agency approx. Depending on experience and location, typically prepared to remunerate properly.
* Car allowance paid monthly on top of salary (amount to be confirmed).
* 35% commission/bonus over agreed target, typically over 3X salary, paid bi-annually, twice per year.
* Pension contribution.
* Annual leave - 25 days plus bank holidays.
* CPD and RICS membership fee covered, and travel expenses covered.
Additional information:
* Average job expectations; on average, about 2-3 jobs per week, with a varied mix.
* For turnaround times, they aim to complete reports within 5 to 10 working days.
* At present, they offer a car allowance and mileage reimbursement, rather than company cars.
* Bonuses are typically around 35% of fees billed, based on exceeding a fee target of approximately 3x salary. Bonuses are paid bi-annually (twice a year).
* For technology, they use Edozo for valuations, searches, and processing maps. They also utilize Agency Pilot, Excel, Word, and a variety of comparable databases including Right Move Plus and CoStar.
* They have an admin team that supports you with report formatting and other tasks, along with graduates who assist with gathering comparable data.
* Their main clients are predominantly mainstream banks, bridging lenders, and brokerage firms and panel managers.
