Client Portfolio Manager – Accountant Cheltenham Full-time, Permanent About the Opportunity We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing practice seeking an experienced Client Portfolio Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of non-audit clients. You'll work closely with senior leadership, manage a varied client base across industries such as sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm. Key Responsibilities Client Account Management: Prepare and review annual accounts and tax returns for a diverse client portfolio, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations. Tax Filing & Compliance: Ensure timely submission of accounts and tax filings to the relevant authorities. Client Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships through regular meetings and proactive communication. Cloud-Based Accounting Solutions: Advise clients on cloud accounting solutions and make tailored recommendations to meet their needs. VAT & Payroll Management: Assist with VAT return reviews and ensure compliance with Making Tax Digital, alongside overseeing payroll processes and timely submissions to HMRC. Team Support & Leadership: Oversee day-to-day team management, allocate tasks, and contribute to the development of junior staff. Networking & Business Growth: Attend networking events and identify opportunities to expand services to both existing and prospective clients. What You’ll Need to Succeed Strong personal motivation and excellent organizational skills to manage your own workload. Ability to work under pressure with a proactive and flexible approach. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal. A collaborative mindset and the ability to support and mentor colleagues. High professionalism and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service. Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively. Skills & Knowledge Required In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, tax compliance, and statutory regulations. Proficiency in personal and business tax, VAT, and payroll procedures. Experience in supervising and mentoring accounting staff. Familiarity with compliance frameworks, including GDPR and Health & Safety regulations. Proficiency with accounting software and cloud-based financial tools. A full, clean driving license and access to a vehicle. Qualifications ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent), or extensive experience in a similar role. What’s on Offer?
