Eridge Underwriting is a motor specialist Managing General Agent based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. We generate over £70 million premium income with 60 Brokers throughout the UK. You have an opportunity to make a positive contribution for a successful business in a working environment which encourages responsibility and creativity.
We are looking for a Motor Development Underwriter with at least 7 years’ relevant experience to join our Underwriting team, helping The Company to continue to grow profitably in a controlled and professional way.
The Role
* Develop a strong understanding of our core insurance products: Private Car, Commercial Vehicle, Taxi and Motor Trade.
* Establish positive working relations with our Brokers, identifying and helping to manage performance, audit findings, and general practices of our Broker panel.
* Regularly review and provide feedback on our Underwriting guidelines and acceptance criteria.
* Handle enquiries from our Broker partners, providing guidance on general risk acceptance, bespoke quotes, and renewals.
* Analyse performance of schemes, brokers and product segments.
* Assist with the development of colleagues within the team.
* Work with our Fraud Team to identify any fraud issues.
About You:
* A person who enjoys working within a team and wants to make a positive difference with their own endeavours and in partnership with colleagues.
* Strong analytical skills; confidently handling and interpreting data.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills; confident in expressing your views.
* An ability to be a decisive and considered decision maker.
* Ability to produce clear, concise and professional reports.
* The ability to build and manage relationships with brokers and other external partners.
* Good organisational skills with ability to work to deadlines independently.
