The Council is seeking to appoint a determined and ambitious individual for the Directorate Finance Lead, Senior Grade SS1, within the Financial Management service. The post holder will need to be a confident communicator as they will be the Finance lead for Manchester’s Schools Forum and will be expected to write and present public reports.
If you’re successful, you’ll join a team of dedicated professionals pushing forward a high standard of support to the organisation.

We would love to hear from you if you have:
* Professional Qualifications: A fully qualified accountant, holding a relevant CCAB or equivalent qualification.
* Experience: Proven experience in a senior financial role within a large organisation, ideally within the public sector.
* Financial Strategy and Analysis: Strong knowledge of budget management, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
* Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local government accounting frameworks and relevant legislation.
* Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct strategic and tactical financial analysis, modelling, and evaluation to support data-driven decision-making.
